I named this line of jewelry "Mitzvah Bracelets". I get the beautiful focal beads from a humanitarian project called "Bead for Life". This organization is based in Uganda and provides women (and a few men!) with a sustainable income. This allows them to secure housing, food, healthcare, and education for themselves and their children. Each bead is carefully made from discarded paper from magazines and other recycled paper.
I recently purchased a large quantity of these hand made beads. I wasn't quite sure what I would make with them, but I decided the best way to showcase their exquisite beauty was to make them into bracelets. By purchasing one of these bracelets, you are helping to support our sisters in Uganda. Everyone wins.
The beads are strung on memory wire and will encircle your wrist 2-3 times. A silver-toned charm is attached to one end. The seed beads add sparkle to the bracelet.
This would make a thoughtful gift to a Bat Mitzvah, or would be a great gift for almost any occasion.
